An interesting development in the software security space. Recently two factor authentication softare such as PassMark, and Digital Envoy have arrived, and they analyse the customers computer and record that “fingerprint” to valaidate the customer in the future.
This new development analyses the customers mouse and typing habits, and associates with the customers profile to create a unique binding that assures the bank that the customer accessing online banking is who they say they are.
The software monitors user characteristics, such as their style of typing and mouse movements, to help determine whether their accounts are being breached by fraudsters. Fair Isaac says such characteristics are almost impossible to mimic by fraudsters.
Relevance to Bankwatch:
As predicted this software space, that provides non customer intrusive support will continue to evolve. This space is characterised by customer pattern based recognition. Banks should understand this because:
- its customer friendly
- its non-inrusive
- no customer hardware support issues
