Gbuy: “The precision of this targeting could be revolutionary”

Strong statements from RBC on the power embedded in Gbuy and how it will revolutionise online payments.  Paypal, by virtue of its parent, eBay, has been primarily for auction payments, but Gbuy will be for ecommerce.

On its core search results pages, Google will designate each merchant accepting GBuy as a “trusted GBuy merchant.” If consumers view this as a mark of safety and security, Rohan believes this should increase click-through rate.

Relevance to Bankwatch:
Banks’ both individually, and collectively need to wise up to the changes in the payments space driven by Paypal, now Google, and expect more to come.  Yahoo will not sit quietly.
