Dare makes a not inconsequential point.  Tags are a core tool in the web 2.0 toolbox, yet they remain highly undeveloped, with non-existent standardisation for usage, and display. 

Tag clouds are already a pet peeve of mine because they are a poor navigational interface but it seems some people [who shall remain nameless] have found a way to make them even more annoying
