Banks in Second Life – worth a look

Its still pretty basic stuff but after following Reuters into SL today, I rooted around and found some Bank stuff.  I couldn’t find Wells who are supposed to be there, but I’d blame my SL search capability for that.

The Reuters site was cool.  IBM have a basic careers location, that links out to their web site.

 

I’ll follow this and post more.

    It’s my understanding the Wells Fargo is doing their own thing through SL. They have what’s called Stagecoach Island where they help teach financial freedom to younger audiences but the island itself, although built in SL, is not accessible by real SL’ers. You have to download the software specifically from Wells.

    I believe this is a poor decision on WF’s part. Segmenting their island from the rest of the world doesn’t allow Wells to understand how SL’ers would want to utilize their island. Ashame really.

  2. Thanks Brad … thats not so cool … I agree that’s a mistake from the little I have seen of SL. Some things are pretty amateurish, so there is a real opportunity to showcase there. Reuters are not bad, except the news isn’t real news.
