Nicolas takes some data on the worlds top companies, and assesses the list using the axes of absolute size and profitability.  Of the top three, one Bank (Bank of America) makes it, with two others close by (HSBC & CitiBank).  Banks, Oil and Pharmaceuticals dominate.
